We also take part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen dog scheme up to Gold Standard, starting with the Puppy Assessment
All breeds and levels are welcome!
New members pay £20 in advance for the first 5 classes, after that, all classes are just £4 per dog, per session.
We offer a class for puppies who have finished their course of vaccinations so that they can socialise with each other and also do some basic obedience training like beginning to learn to stay on command and to come when called.
Every Tuesday
6:30 to 7:10 pm
This class is for dogs older than 6 months, who will learn to mix with other dogs, under lead control.
If their owners wish, the dogs can work towards taking the Kennel Club Bronze Good Citizen test.
Every Tuesday
7:15 to 8:00 pm
Dogs in the top class will usually have passed the Bronze test so that they can progress to more difficult exercises. As well as basic obedience, some weeks the dogs can also do some beginner agility exercises, going over small jumps or through hoops and weaving poles, which all the dogs enjoy.
Every Tuesday
8:10 to 9:00 pm
Please contact Zoë before attending to ensure that there is space in the class as numbers have to be strictly limited at this time and pre-booking is essential.

Hi, I am Zoë Tumber and I am the trainer at Thanet Dog Obedience group. My dog is Georgie, a cocker spaniel, who has been quite a challenge but I still love her dearly!
The club was formed originally by Pauline Osborne at the request of a small group of dog owners who wanted to teach their dogs to behave better. Initially this was at a hall in Ramsgate but in 2004 we moved to the Memorial Hall in the High Street, St. Peter’s CT10 2TH where classes have been held ever since.
We have had great success over the years with rehabilitating dogs who may not have had a good start in life but are brought by their new owners to be socialised and to become better behaved. Some of the dogs at the club have come as puppies and continue coming regularly each week for years simply because the dogs themselves enjoy their “club night” so much.
